What Each Number Means

| Bookmarks | How many times people saved the post privately. The count is public; who saved it is not. |
Bookmarks are the quietest signal and one of the most telling. People save what they want to come back to: guides, data, tools and recipes. A high save rate (bookmarks divided by likes) marks content with lasting value, even when likes look ordinary.
How Engagement Rate Works for a Single Post
This viewer calculates two engagement rates and shows both formulas:
(likes + reposts + quotes + replies + bookmarks) ÷ views
This is the share of people who saw the post and did something.
the same engagements ÷ the author’s followers
It is useful for comparing accounts of different sizes, but it is inflated when a post goes viral outside the author’s audience.
Compare with the author, not with the internet.
Industry averages are a poor yardstick, because a news account, a meme account and a developer will never match. Turn on “Compare with the author’s recent posts” instead. How to See How Many Views a Tweet Has
On X: the view count sits under every post, next to the bar-chart icon. Tap it on your own post to open the post’s analytics.

Views started appearing publicly on X in December 2022. A view is counted each time the post is displayed, so one reader scrolling past twice counts twice.

If you want to know who bookmarked your tweet, X does not show it to anyone, and no outside tool can. Anything that claims otherwise is guessing. What you can see is who replied, reposted and quoted, and that is where the conversation around a post actually happens.
Tweet Lookup by ID
Every post has a permanent numeric ID, the long number at the end of its link. You can paste the ID alone instead of the full link, and the viewer finds the post. Why are the numbers different from what I see on X?
Views and engagement keep changing as a post spreads. We read the numbers live and cache them for up to an hour, so a fast-moving post can move on by the time you look again.
Does the author know I viewed their tweet?
No. The viewer reads public data and does not interact with the post or the account. Your lookup is not counted as a view on X.
Can it show deleted or protected tweets?
No. Deleted posts are gone from X, and protected posts are visible only to approved followers. The viewer tells you when a post is unavailable.
